Aye. So this year has been the breath between fits, a little repose. Easy times. Kick out a couple more kids and contemplate our reason to be. What better time could there be to dust off the vehicle that served as the catalyst for our collective and plan the first (and only) public Pedal Steel Transmission show in 8 years? Join our nostalgia bender on Sunday August 26th for an early evening filled with celebrity chefs, amazing food, Ommegang beer, and sets from Black Bear Combo, Sundress, Communist Daughter, and the Pedal Steel Transmission at this year’s Food Truck Social. The outdoor stage will be on Chicago Avenue between Wood and Wolcott streets in West Town.

The woodshed is on fire! Here’s what’s cooking at Cardboard Sangria:

The Singleman Affair is playing a rare solo sitar set at Comfort Station Tonight!. Sharing the bill with Dan is amazing guitarist Victor Villareal (Cap’n Jazz, Joan of Arc). This free show starts at 7, and seating is limited.

Speaking of The Singleman Affair, the band is hard at work on the video for their new digital single, “In Response”, which we’ll have for sale everywhere later this year.

We’re actually pretty crazy about streaming music these days, especially looking for new bands on YouTube, so we decided to post all of our catalog to the Cardboard Sangria YouTube channel and link it to every album on this site (I’m almost done- look for the “Stream The Whole Album” link above every record)- you can check our progress and jam out all day long to your favorite non-country space-rock mathy emo-prog hits… Case and point:

Oh, and after the success of the 40-year-old Leebones Birthday Party Band, the Pedal Steel Transmission will be playing 2 more reunion shows this summer… one reprise 40 party for Bry, and a Saturday in the city. More details on their way.
